Once again India is under the grip of the Election Fever!

Again, what seems to be our fate is a "Coalition Government of Arithmatics".

New parties, new alliances, new manifestos, agendas, new ways of influencing and buying votes, new deals for sharing seats and money.

Indian politics has become a business: Invest crores and reap profits in crores.

What are these parties doing to solve India's problems or to improve the life of the common man?

Everybody discusses this, agrees and strongly feels that something must be done to stop this corruption and mismanagement of the country but …but everybody is helpless!!
Are we really so helpless???

Are we not equally responsible for allowing this to continue? Will the future forgive us?

We, at Reform India, are attempting to sow the seed of a revolution : "Golden India by 2000."

If India must be reformed in a given time span it is essential that every aspect of the reform be addressed at the same time.

Our aim is to create a common platform where all like-minded people and organisations can contribute their efforts, each in its own way, under an Integral Vision of Golden India.

India's true role in the Future of the World demands nothing less.

"But the destiny of India will not wait on the falterings and failings of individuals..." - Sri Aurobindo

We do realise the impossible dimensions of the task ahead.We recognise the tireless work already put in by countless patriots and social organisations. We are under no illusions. Things might just remain as they are but we refuse to keep watching like helpless bystanders, impotent and inactive. Our Indianness, our very stuff and identity is under threat of extinction. Our blood boils. Our Mother India calls us. We cannot let her down.

The core of our endeavour is :

1. To prevent criminals and MONEY MANIACS from entering the elections.
2. To bring CAPABLE, QUALIFIED and DEDICATED Indians in the election scenario and thus to the parliament.
3. To create a CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT for such people to feel inspired and come forward.
4. To change the very OPERATING LOGIC and fundamentals of the present political thinking.
5. To remove the cancerous poison of FEAR and GUILT which politicians have instilled in the common man making it impossible for him to protest and rendering him totally helpless.
6. To provide basic amenities as a right and give DIGNITY, DREAM and HOPE to every citizen.
7. To make every Indian feel PROUD of being an INDIAN.

To further promote our goal I decided to contest the present Parliamentary elections -Independent candidate, without money power, without any powerful backing - as a symbolic gesture to create more awareness and pave the way for other patriots to come forward and lead India to its Glorious Future - the Golden India of the Millennium. Significantly, the first ray of the millennium sun (00hrs.GMT) will fall on the Katchall (Nicobar) Island of India. (Ref. Front page article in The Times of India - 29-6-99)
